Northwest Ice Skating Why Isn't Salt Used To De-ice Roads In The Seattle/Northwest U.S. Area?

Why isn't salt used to de-ice roads in the Seattle/Northwest U.S. area? - northwest ice skating

I moved here 3 months ago from Michigan, and I can not believe how getting off the road when it snows. It is as if the entire area is closed and the streets remain, as the ice caps. It appears that salt is damn useful, especially because the region is very mountainous (especially in Tacoma, where I live) and it may be impossible from a garage at a slight angle.

Salt ruins cars. Nobody likes to avoid a car in ruins, and what he calls "as the east coast of the car" like the plague. How can you not know that salt is for cars - especially from a place like Michigan?

The state uses the sand, and has recently been at the forefront of contracting a type of sand from the waste product of cheese production. It works, and - even better - normal salt and sand.

If your area has not been sanded, it is because Washington State does not have the same general type of severe winter weather than the rest of the country and not as much icing and sanding of vehicles they have to suffer in Michigan.

Apart from anything else, prefer to live in stagnant waters Michigan with the jump "on" for the winter, or in Washington to prepare the lives of at least 100% better than Michigan?

, Quit complaining or go home. Nobody asked you come here to get started.

Michigan, snow is nothing like snow Tacoma.

# 1, we have hills here.

# 2, are melt our streets, in rain and frost during the night. Salt can not help prevent ice as salt to water before freezing is not really melt the ice. Michigan has the beautiful snow, followed by cold, dry day, where roads get ara a few times and then left the snow lasted for weeks.

# 3, this is the most snow we've had since 1973! Can You Dig It? Invest in tons of snow removal is a waste of our money.

I lived in Seattle for a while and you're right in the city (schools, airports, etc.) are closed when it snows. You have to know a lot of money on the streets not salt'm why they do not. Salt can be used to destroy the cars in moderation gravel, where I live. (Idaho). Maybe not enough snow to develop a system that works.
